Celebrate Carnival in Style

A Weekend in the Mountains Between Elegance and Interior Design

What better way to celebrate Carnival than with a weekend in the mountains? The crisp air, snow-capped landscapes, and the warm hospitality of high-altitude hotels create a truly unique atmosphere. Perched at 1,450 meters above sea level, surrounded by the mountains of Val Pusteria and Valle Isarco, stands Hotel Familiamus, a 5-star family hotel. It offers cozy rooms, dedicated spaces for children, and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The hotel’s exterior features a façade that combines wood and glass, while the top floor hosts a large panoramic terrace with an infinity pool. Inside, spacious common areas, comfortable rooms, and amenities cater to the well-being of both adults and children. This hotel stands out for its attention to detail and masterful use of high-quality materials. However, a true alpine retreat is defined more than just its location or amenities—it’s the carefully curated design elements that create an immersive and refined experience. At Familiamus, every surface and material has been carefully chosen to enhance the interior. Let’s explore the collections that make this mountain retreat an ideal holiday destination.

Interior Design: Floors and Walls as an Expression of Style

In the world of interior design, choosing the right finishes for floors and walls is essential to defining a space’s character. Surfaces not only reflect the designer’s aesthetic vision but also fulfil practical needs, ensuring functionality, durability, and comfort. Viewed from above, Familiamus takes on the form of a glacier’s tongue, a unique architectural design that blends harmoniously into the mountain landscape. Designed with a strong focus on environmental sustainability, the hotel boasts Casa Clima A-Class certification, achieved through low energy consumption per square meter, sustainable heating systems, and the use of renewable energy sources. To create a truly magical atmosphere, two collections by Coem were chosen: COTTOCEMENTO and PORFIRICA. These selections strike the perfect balance between aesthetics, tradition, and innovation.

Warmth and Sophistication

The COTTOCEMENTO collection blends the authentic charm of terracotta with the contemporary appeal of concrete. The warm tones and artisanal-inspired texture of this finish are ideal for creating inviting yet sophisticated spaces, all while maintaining the practicality of ceramic surfaces. Perfect for both floors and walls, this collection blends harmoniously with the alpine style of Hotel Familiamus, adding a touch of elegance and comfort.
Another highlight of the project is the PORFIRICA collection, inspired by the strength and beauty of porphyry. This collection faithfully captures the essence of natural stone, while offering exceptional technical performance. Thanks to its resistance and versatility, PORFIRICA is the perfect choice for high-traffic areas in a hotel, where aesthetic appeal and durability must go hand in hand. At Hotel Familiamus, this collection was chosen to clad both the interior and edges of all pools, including the infinity pool on the panoramic terrace. Made of stone-effect porcelain stoneware tiles in Grey, and in sizes 75×75, 75×149.7, and 60.4×90.6 cm with a 2 cm thickness, PORFIRICA stands out for its robustness and frost resistance—essential qualities for wellness areas. Moreover, the entire pool area, which extends to the outdoors, is clad in a custom version of the COTTOCEMENTO collection, a concrete-effect porcelain stoneware that mirrors the aesthetic found throughout much of the hotel’s common areas.

DOT by Fioranese: Porcelain Stoneware with a Concrete Effect

In addition to Coem’s collections, Hotel Familiamus also features DOT by Fioranese, a concrete-effect porcelain stoneware that stands out for its modern and minimalist design. This collection enhances the hotel’s interiors with a contemporary aesthetic, seamlessly blending with the warm, natural finishes. DOT adds a distinctive stylistic touch, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
Hotel Familiamus demonstrates how attention to detail and the choice of high-quality materials can transform a space, making it not only visually stunning but also functional and welcoming.
