Culture and design: unconventional Rome

Our favourite addresses in the capital for the perfect purchase

Let’s take a look at the capital, in search of Rome’s finest shops for design lovers.
If you don’t have time to walk up and down Via del Corso and its side streets, we have a few original, not-to-be-missed addresses worth a look in the capital.

01. FIRST STOP CAMPO DEI FIORI:

On Via dei Cappellari, where you’ll find Daforma Gallery, open day and night to team culture with night life, and offering the chance to admire works by architects and designers on the lifestyle concept. This unconventional gallery also has a cafeteria, a pink room to explore and a workshop devoted to flower arrangements.

02. A CONTAINER OF IDEAS AND INSPIRATIONS ON DESIGN:

Let’s now move on, to the vaguely cyberpunk atmosphere of Cantiere Galli Design, located in a penthouse with a very Milanese style and offering ideas and suggestions for professionals and design aficionados: unique objects, a themed bookshop, consulting tables to put your ideas into practice, and an area exclusively dedicated to new creative projects.

03. NEAR THE ARA PACIS:

Near the Ara Pacis, a whole street has been given a new look to offer the best of cutting-edge design. Fondaco is a succession of shops ranging from up-and-coming craft workshops, jewellery and technology to accommodation and the world of animals. A little wonderland in the heart of Rome, well worth exploring the length and breadth of.

04. DISPENSABILE SPACE:

Moving on to Via D’Aracoeli 37, you’ll find a particularly inviting, cosy atmosphere in Dispensabile, a shop-design workshop established in 2012, the ideal place for furnishing accessories, lighting and various objects for designing your ideal home.

05. STAY, A DELIGHTFUL LITTLE SHOP!

In Via dei Falegnami, you might like to visit Stay, a delightful little shop specialising in handmade collections, with sophisticated, quality items that strike a balance between Italian tradition and international innovation. Unusual, ever-changing style combinations you’ll love to experiment with, in incredible colours and materials suitable for every room in the house.

06. MUCCIACCIA ART GALLERY

A great way to end your shopping trip in the city is the uniquely elegant Mucciaccia, Art Gallery, located in the heart of the city, in Piazza Fontanella Borghese in Campo Marzio. This new gallery is a meeting point for artists, collectors, experts and art lovers. The gallery setting itself is a work of art, welcoming visitors into its bright interiors from the magnificent large windows on the outside. The gallery has been beautifully tiled with cement-effect porcelain stoneware covering materials from the BLEND series by Fioranese, in the 60×60 size, used for all the floors in a sophisticated shade of grey to create a unique blend of art, space and material.
