Masseria San Giovanni: Apulia at its most beautiful

Nature and design in a unique project to fall immediately in love with

The special place we want to tell you about today is called Masseria San Giovanni, a very particular structure situated in the countryside of Montalbano, in the district of Fasano, which has completely won over Raul Bova, to the extent that he has become its owner. In love with Apulia, the actor has bought and restructured the Masseria, creating a magic and unique place.

A place of immense beauty

Set in the middle of the Valle D’Itria countryside, Masseria San Giovanni is a small and elegant white fortress surrounded by century-old olive and orange trees, vegetable gardens and luxuriant rosemary shrubs. Its architectural structure dates, in fact, to the 1600s, and has been renovated in accordance with the original materials and details: here nature is an antidote to city stress, thanks also to the fabulous setting. The garden is amazing, with a swimming pool perfectly inserted into the landscape in the Contrada Ottava, which is located within the Bio-itinerary of via Traiana, the ancient Roman road that connected Rome to Apulia. There is also a citrus grove and a small church from the beginning of the 1700s, surrounded by an expanse of ancient olive trees.

Relaxation and elegance

The Masseria (traditional farmhouse) is composed of 15 rooms, including 5 suites, finished down to the smallest details, and enriched by precious objects and refined textile details. It is all completed with a minimal furnishing style, and by recovered ancient barrel vaults, which reveal the magic of honey-coloured Lecce tuff. Staying here means taking a sensorial journey that is a joy to the eyes with its colours, fills the air with perfumes and even arrives at the palate, with elegant and genuine dishes, firmly based on local products.

Nature is at the heart of the renovation project

Completely renovated in full respect of the original materials and details, Masseria San Giovanni has a magic atmosphere. It’s a restoration project that has involved the use of the best materials and a commitment to enhance its particular characteristics. Everything has been designed to ensure that client is surrounded by wellbeing in its purest form. The interiors have been developed in a modern style, with country-chic touches; the colours are soft, creating a very relaxing and welcoming effect. Particular attention has been dedicated to the finishings of the floors which are in line with the general mood of the Masseria. The Roman Interior Stylist, Cristina Gigli, has chosen a number of the fascinating Ceramica Fioranese collections for a large part of the internal coverings, really suitable in this unique restoration context. Specifically, the Cementina_5 from the CEMENTINE_20 collection and the Exagona tiles in stone-effect porcelain stoneware from the HERITAGE collection have been used. These are two collections with a refined rustic feel, with delicate and soft shades, immediately creating an atmosphere of complete relaxation. Tiles in porcelain stoneware are really perfect if used in homes near the sea or in the country, with a contemporary and elegant retro effect. All that remains to do is to book a great holiday at Masseria San Giovanni in order to fully appreciate this magical place!
