The versatility of the 2020 Palette

Classic Blue is a very versatile, albeit basic colour, which combines well and could even take over from black, at least for 2020. It’s no coincidence that a shade of blue was also chosen in 2000 (Cerulean) to celebrate the arrival of the new millennium. This colour is perfect for bringing a breath of fresh air into the living room or into the bedroom or kitchen: refined in its simplicity, it will certainly lend great character to all the rooms of the home, whether used on the walls or in the floorings, or chosen for furnishing accessories such as sofas and bookcases.

Thousands of original colour combinations

Classic Blue is perfect for developing new designs, also together with contrasting nuances. Taking inspiration from dusk, blue blends magnificently with classic marine colours such as rope, white and red, but also a beautiful green can create an unusual and very relaxing combination. Light colours such as white, beige or cream, are very suitable because they create a particularly elegant contrast. Do you prefer to be more minimalist and monochrome? Blue is the perfect colour for lending interiors an elegant touch of timeless colour.

Intense blue: a contemporary reinterpretation

Blue in floorings can be used in various, also particularly modern, solutions, and don’t impinge unnecessarily on the look and feel of the living spaces.
FIO.Ghiaia, the collection created by the architect Luigi Romanelli for Ceramica Fioranese’s FIO. line, is an excellent example of inserting the colour blue while still obtaining a striking and bright floor. This collection gives life to a story of stones that become precious rock, with which small pebbles become chips of precious stone such as marble. A “terrazzo” idea is used, with a background available in fine and coarse grain, and with the possibility of very modern large/small combinations of great decorative potential. There is no problem of combinations with the nuances of the furnishings, thanks to the three colours of the background in the range – Bianco, Grigio and Grafite. Blue, however, remains the fil-rouge running through these surfaces in porcelain stoneware. It’s an intense marine blue, welcoming and a little dreamlike, which enters rooms resonating with the same lightness as water.
