Neropaco’s craftsmanship meets Fioranese porcelain stoneware

New unique and original projects developed with particular finishes

Imagination, creativity and innovation: these are certainly the words that best sum up the philosophy and work of the Neropaco studio in Modena. A group of artisans, after years of experience in the field, decided to join together to set up a unique project of its kind: to offer their experience and creativity to those companies and people that want to make the world of interior design really special. Ceramica Fioranese is 100% in tune with this innovative spirit and has developed various offers together with Neropaco, presented during the recent Cersaie 2019.

Specifically, the collaboration between the two companies has given rise to the Sfrido collection and to the decorations in the Sound of Marbles and Urban Challenge collections. We interviewed Neropaco to find out more about them and to understand how their creativity can enter our living spaces, giving rise to projects that reflect the know-how and essence of artisans of the new millennium.

1. Neropaco, artisans and artists, how did your collaboration with Ceramica Fioranese come about?

The collaboration came about very spontaneously. We had already developed a number of projects for floors, then we were contacted by Ceramica Fioranese, which had seen some of our works, and we set up this collaboration… and that’s how our fantastic adventure together began.

2. Ceramics as a material; how has it inspired you?

Normally we create the surfaces ourselves for our projects; ceramics is a new world for us. We have always tried to create surfaces with particular materials and our inspiration for this collaboration came from the nature of the project itself: thanks to the ceramic material we’ve understood that’s it’s possible to encompass any type of material… let’s take the Sfrido line as an example …. concrete and wood…the ceramic material is perfect for reproducing our creativity with a material which is resistant and long-lasting, as well as elegant. A perfect mix between innovation and imagination.

3. How did the Sfrido collection come about? How did you decide to interpret the concrete-effect?

We have been using concrete surfaces for around 10 years, always combined with different materials; with Fioranese we thought about warmer settings, and that’s why we’ve decided to add the two-colour Frake wood: together we’ve managed to create an elegant and warm surface, which really adapts to all types of living spaces!

4. What contexts are the decorations designed by you for the Urban Challenge collection suitable for?

Urban Challenge reminded us of old country houses; nothing could, therefore, be more suitable than an antique oak decoration, with all its charm of the past, absolutely perfect for a modern environment enhanced by the use of a contemporary wood effect and by a warm atmosphere.

5. How did you decide to interpret the marble effect for the Sound of Marbles collection?

For the decorations in the Sound of Marbles line, exploiting the extremely refined marble-effect, we sought to pay a tribute to architecture, with 6 different shapes set in the concrete, in order to create a sophisticated, but also ultra-modern mood.

6. It is stated on your site: no limit to the imagination…what will be your next projects?

We don’t normally think about the next project; every project is self-contained. We try to interpret new trends with the help of our client, and to understand and translate their tastes in the language of creativity, always using our sensitivity and experience as artisans.

7. What does it mean for Neropaco to be original every day?

Originality is something that comes from inside you, it’s very subjective. The important thing is never to follow anyone else; originality is simply instinct…follow your instinct and you will always be original!
