A new project full of poetry and beauty

An event, a dedicated site and a special surprise

In such an exceptional period as this, it’s important to make projects, because it focuses attention on the future with trust and optimism. Ceramiche Coem has therefore seized the opportunity to launch a really unique initiative, which includes, first of all, a new Temporary Workspace called “Evolving dialogues”, developed at the Fiorano Modenese (MO) plant. It’s a substantial reinterpretation of the display area, visitable online through a dedicated site: thanks to this new digital platform, it’s possible to discover new products and also…discover art! That’s because this special space contains, like a real art gallery, a unique work of art that summarises in a poetic approach the connections between people, ceramics, nature and culture: because there’s no stopping progress and creative thought. Let’s find out about this multifaceted and particular project together.

First of all, let’s meet the artist and floral designer: Emy Petrini

“I like working with nature, in harmony with the seasons; it’s as if nature were guiding my hand. In my work I use the natural element in harmony with its habitat, its growth and its environment”. This is the philosophy with which Emy Petrini creates her works. The artist from Lucca with a diploma in Interior Design from the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro (Institute of Art and Restoration) in Florence, continued her studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Fine Arts Academy) of Carrara in the scenic design section. She also attended the advanced course in Floristry at the Welsh College of Horticulture – Northop, obtaining the Higher Diploma in Floristry (ICSF). It’s an in-depth and complete course for designing and developing sets, installations and decorations including flowers and natural elements. Emy Petrini works frequently in Paris, Florence and Rome. In December 2010 she was assigned the creation of a 120 sq.m. wood in Berlin, a grandiose work that has a strong communicative force in its own right. The artist puts nature, and its relationship with people and time, at the centre of her work.

Acchiappasogni (Dreamcatchers): art, poetry and nature

The work created by Emy Petrini for Ceramiche Coem is an aerial installation composed of large-sized two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements as if they were suspended Dreamcatchers, light and evocative at the same time, made by weaving plant material onto iron structures. This is how the artist presents her work: “I like the idea of combining a direction of research that unites creativity with a technique developed over time through experience. Ceramics and willow branches are very different materials but both share an origin that is rooted in our past but which also develops and is projected towards the future. Her passion, love for art and nature and maximum attention to every single detail are reflected in these surfaces in which clay, colours and structures unite to give life to new expressive forms. Weaves of deep wisdom, connections and illuminated awareness.” A work made with the heart, uniting art and nature.

Ceramics and creativity: a special bond

The ceramic material is once more a representation of beauty and harmony, putting the life of human beings in close contact with mother nature. The new collections developed by Ceramiche Coem have been conceived in the current context of fragility, but also of progress and creativity, rediscovering the authenticity of stone and natural surfaces, transmitting sensations of warmth and balance; they explore the earth and its origins, they discover the deepest roots, weaves and textures. The relationship with Nature generates new colour combinations and structures in which harmony is achieved almost accidentally, giving rise to surfaces with a light and changeable appearance. The evolution of technology contributes to making these surfaces long-lasting and high-performing, suitable for various applications, as has always been the case, but adding a new consistency perceptible to the touch and to the eyes. Deeply amalgamated material on material and a variability of graphics and structures transmit three-dimensional effects of surfaces that make the interpretation of natural materials perfectly realistic. Sciliar, Tweed Stone and Mea Lapis are the names of the Coem collections which we will discover together in the coming months to begin to imagine how our new spaces will be. For today we’ll stop and allow ourselves to be amazed by art; we can admire nature through L’Acchiappasogni (the Dream Catcher) by Emy Petrini and imagine together how to make our future better.
